LEAD International invests in Brazil to improve network mobilization, partnerships and marketing

LEAD International has approved in its 2006 Special Opportunities Investment Fund a grant to a LEAD Brazil project. The overall goal of Mobilizing the Network 2006 is to enhance the impact and sustainability of LEAD Brazil by mobilizing the network and partnering with Fellows.

Following its two-year period of capacity building and consolidating methodologies, LEAD Brazil is now ready to approach network mobilization as its core strategy ― the purpose is to start a virtuous cycle of Fellow engagement that will enable LEAD Brazil to better fulfill its mission and drive it towards financial self-sufficiency. This cycle will be develop by three key lines:

  1. Mobilization: nurturing and engaging the network;
  2. Partnerships: developing and launching new programs and action projects with Fellows;
  3. Marketing: communicating the LEAD Network impact on sustainable development.

The specific objectives, outcomes and deliverables are:

  • To prospect and offer partnering possibilities with Fellows;
  • To demonstrate impact of LEAD Network to a broaden public by producing marketing campaigns and materials;
  • To promote qualified debates on sustainable development matters, presenting LEAD Fellows’ cases and mobilizing people and organizations to engage in dialogue;
  • To create a virtual environment for forums and interaction of people and organizations on the cases portrayed by Practices in Sustainability and other topics;
  • To publish both printed and digital versions of the Practices in Sustainability cases;
  • To improve + fellows newsletter and fellow in action interview series (see examples attached);
  • To share methodology and cases of the Practices in Sustainability project with LEAD International and Member Programs;
  • To finish year one of network holography by producing a report of network activity and relational data of Fellows; and
  • To share a methodology for network mapping and permanent database updating, which could be replicated in other LEAD Member Programs.

The activities and schedule can be seen below:

Given the transition moment that LEAD International and the Member Programs are undergoing, we must look into our past and highlight our major achievements, particularly the actual creation of the network, thus increasing due appreciation of the organization’s record and enabling LEAD to build a more successful future.

By enhancing our ability to explore our greatest assets — the relationship with the network members and a solid approach to capacity-building — Mobilizing the Network 2006 represents a leverage phase of a growing movement that will assist LEAD Brazil in reaching its mission and arriving at its self-sufficiency.
