Over the past year, LEAD International has supported LEAD Brazil activities to enhance its impact and sustainability. Below we present the 2006 highlights of Mobilizing the Network:

COP8-MOP3, UN Conferences, Curitiba, March 2006.




Two major UN Conferences took place in March, 2006: the 3rd Meeting of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety (MOP3) and the 8th Conference of the Parties (COP8) of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). Several fellows from Brazil and other countries attended the conferences and were involved in activities. LEAD Brazil opened a virtual forum and facilitated networking and connections between fellows.

WORLD URBAM FORUM (WUF-3)

LEAD Brazil hosted a virtual forum for fellows to discuss the WUF issues and to prepare them for the conference, in Vancouver, Canada, June 2006.

HSBC Institute, partner of Practices in Sustainability project




A partnership with HSBC Institute allowed LEAD Brazil to work two themes of Practices in Sustainability: Sustainable Business and Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Each theme highlighting different case studies selected from practicing LEAD fellows, professionals and organisations of prominence in the social and environmental arena.

Marketing and Communications Materials

Also in 2006 LEAD Brazil developed its new portfolio, including brochures, folders and DVDs.
