LEAD Brazil and HSBC announce a new partnership: Practices in Sustainability
LEAD Brazil and HSBC have announced a new partnership in the region: Practices in Sustainability. The objective of the project is to promote sustainable development by disseminating a wide range of best practices from different fields and sharing experiences in Brazil.
The project is organised around two major themes: Sustainable Business and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). They will be explored through a number of activities culminating in online and printed publications. Each theme will highlight different case studies selected from practicing LEAD fellows, professionals and organisations of prominence in the social and environmental arena. The projects activities will include virtual forums, presentation and networking events, and the production and distribution of media resources.
Brazil is experiencing a period of great innovation in the business, environmental management, and social technologies. The concept of sustainability is underpinning the formation of new enterprises, public administration and values of the civil society.
There is a need for best practices to be adopted and replicated by a greater number of organisations, who will adapt them for their different communities and situations. Practices in Sustainability tackles this by offering a qualified and democratic debate in relevant fields and by providing case study information that is implementable.
The official launch and the beginning of the first part of the project is scheduled for 5th June - World Environment Day.
